When we travel, our oils go with us – they are a HUGE part of our trips.

Road Trips #1 – A MUST have is a carrying case - They are not that expensive when you consider that they are holding some powerful and potent little bottles. Large cases can hold up to 70 bottles, medium cases around 30 and smaller cases can go right in your purse! Key chain carriers are perfect for sharing oils on the go. #2 – Diffuse On the Trip (at the hotel and beyond) - There are all sorts of sizes of diffusers. Plug in and battery powered. Plus portable diffusers can be kept in the car and are plugged into your power converter. #3 – Don’t forget your Carrier Oil! Some oils will need to be diluted before applying to the body, and having a carrier oil (a fatty oil) is really a necessity in these cases. You can use Olive Oil, Fractionated Coconut Oil (which I prefer), Grape Seed Oil, etc.. – whatever works best for you.

Suggested Oils for Traveling

Lavender Oil – This is your Swiss Army Knife oil. It’s great for seasonal relief, relaxing, and the perfect way to help children rest at night. Put a single drop in bath water and it will help calm kids before bed.

Peppermint Oil - Great for helping to improve your focus on the trip. When you have a long drive ahead of you, it’s a great way to stay alert. It's also great to support digestion – Perfect oil to add a drop to water.

Soothing Oil Blend – Wonderful to help you feel better if you have been on your feet all day, carried too many heavy bags, been stuck in a car, etc.

Frankincense Oil - This oil is great for immune support, promotes feelings of relaxation and works well for skincare products too.

Lemon Oil - Take this everywhere! In your purse, to every restaurant, in every glass of water you drink. It’s a great way to support the inner workings of the body and keep them in nice working order and clear out the yuck, which can be hard to do on a road trip.

Camping Trips When you start planning your next camping trip, add these essential oils to your packing list to help with all those minor issues and details that come up while outdoors.

Repellant Blend - an essential oil blend that provides a safe and effective deterrent against biting bugs. There are a few ways to use it:

  • Apply it topically to the skin to keep the bugs away from you.

  • Add it to diffusers and candles around your eating area, so that its scent fills the air.

  • Hang a ribbon diffuser that has a few drops of TerraShield added to it near the door of your tent to keep the bugs out.

  • Spray the inside of your tent after you get it set up.

Peppermint Oil - Ants are another pesky bug that seem to terrorize campers and get into everything, including your food. To keep these pests away, take peppermint oil with you. Just add a drop to cotton balls kept near the doors of the tent, around your eating area and even in the containers that are holding your food. Ants really hate the scent of peppermint, so the essential oil deters them before you even have a problem. Lavender Oil - So many great uses when you are spending time outdoors. Keeping it nearby during bedtime helps everyone fall asleep, it’s a natural bug deterrent and it helps soothe irritated skin. Lavender oil can also be added to aloe vera to apply topically to help soothe irritated skin faster. Helichrysum Oil - one of those essential oils that’s vital to have on hand at all times, especially when spending a lot of time outdoors. It’s useful for so many different things!
