If you have ever enjoyed the scent of flowers, you’ve experienced the aromatic qualities of essential oils. These naturally occurring, volatile aromatic compounds are found in the seeds, bark, stems, roots, flowers, and other parts of plants. They can be both magnificently and powerfully fragrant.
Essential oils give plants their distinctive smells, protect plants and play a role in plant pollination. In addition to their inherent benefits to plants and their beautiful fragrance, essential oils have long been used for food preparation, beauty treatment, cleaning and wellness practices. Plus, essential oils can be used for a wide range of emotional and physical applications.
Essential oils, contrary to the use of the word "oil" are not really oily-feeling at all. Most essential oils are clear, but some oils have a hint of color. Essential oils are highly concentrated and a little goes a long way. Also, keep in mind, essential oils are not the same as perfume or fragrance oils. Where essential oils are derived from the true plants, perfume oils are artificially created fragrances or contain artificial substances and do not offer the wellness benefits that essential oils offer.
